Dermal Fillers

Using Hyaluronic Acid or Poly-L-latic acid

Dermal fillers are used to add volume to the soft tissue in the face and body, addressing signs of aging such as wrinkles, sunken eyes, thinning lips, ageing hands and sagging bottom. They are commonly used in areas such as the cheeks, mouth, lips, around the eyes, and the jawline as well as the body.

At Medik Clinic, we offer two types of fillers based on individual needs. We use a gel form containing hyaluronic acid (HA) or a mixed powdered form containing poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA).

HA is a natural sugar present in the human body. When injected, it can repair and reverse the aging process. These injections instantly fill and soften the area, enhancing and creating volume where needed. With an emphasis on a 'less is more' approach, we always strive to create a natural look. The amount of time which the results last will vary from person to person, but this is usually between nine and 18 months.

PLLA is a bio-stimulatory dermal filler known for stimulating the skin to produce new collagen. It works in two ways: tightening the skin on the face and body, or adding volume and fullness. It can be used for a more youthful appearance or as a preventative treatment. The effects of PLLA appear gradually over a few months, delivering natural results that can last from 2 to 5 years.
